The Seattle Mariners are on the brink of being eliminated from the playoffs. Seattle is two games behind Oakland for the second Wild Card spot in the American League. While the A’s get to play a weekend series against the last place Texas Rangers, the Mariners will be hosting the first place Los Angeles Angels. On the secondary market, the average price for Seattle Mariners tickets this weekend is $61.17. The secondary market price is significantly cheaper than a potential home Wild Card game, which would have an average price of $202.65.
9/26 – Jered Weaver vs Hisashi Iwakuma | Avg. Price: $65.47 | Get-in Price: $19
Weaver started out the season a little shaky, but he has a 2.92 ERA over his past six starts. Iwakuma, unfortunately for Seattle, has been suffering the opposite problem. Iwakuma was dominant for most of the season, but he is only 2-3 with a 9.12 ERA in his past six starts. This will be the most expensive of the series by both average and get-in price.
9/27 – Cory Rasmus vs James Paxton | Avg. Price: $58.33 | Get-in Price: $10
While sitting out some of the season with an injury, Paxton has been very impressive this year. His last start, however, was his worst of the season. Against Toronto on Monday, have gave up nine runs on seven hits with six walks in just 2 ⅔ innings. Saturday’s game will be the cheapest of the weekend.
9/28 – C.J. Wilson vs Felix Hernandez | Avg. Price: $62.57 | Get-in Price: $10
Continuing with the trend of Seattle pitchers, Hernandez is coming off his worst start of the season. That comes down to one bad inning, giving up seven runs in the fifth against the Blue Jays. This will be his final start to make his case for the American League Cy Young Award, which he is currently in a battle with Cleveland’s Corey Kluber.
