The Texas Rangers have traded outfielder Daniel Robertson to the Los Angeles Angels for either a player to be named or cash. The deal was announced Thursday by the teams. The Angels designated outfielder Alfredo Marte for assignment to make room for Robertson on their 40-man roster.

The 29-year-old played in 70 games for the Rangers last season and slashed .271/.333/.333. He did not record a home run, but did rack up 21 RBI’s for the club. He obtained a 0.2 WAR. He had 177 at-bats last season. It was his first taste of the MLB and was solid defensively.

Robertson began the season in the minors with San Diego and was acquired by the Rangers in late April. Now he will be playing for the Angels.
