Reports: White Sox sign George Kottaras

The White Sox have shaken things up this offseason, forcing all eyes of the baseball world on their recent moves. GM Rick Hahn has been as active as any team, spending big on Melky Cabrera, David Robertson, Zach Duke, and trading for Jeff Samardzija. With an improved bullpen, a reliable number two starter, and a big bat, the White Sox decided to add depth by signing catcher George Kottaras.

Chicago has Tyler Flower and Adrian Nieto on the depth chart, so it will be interesting to see where Kottaras, who played very little last season, fits in. Kottaras has played seven major league seasons with plenty of experience.

What’s next for the White Sox after signing the free agent catcher?
