Pecos League Name Garden City Wind as Newest Team

The Pecos League announced the Garden City Wind as the newest member of their league on Friday. The team will play their home games at Clint Lightner Ballpark, which is located in Garden City, Kan., during their inaugural season next year. The ballpark will be the first ever artificial turf field in the history of the Pecos League.

Garden City will play in the Northern Division during the 2015 season along with the Las Vegas Train Robbers, Trinidad Triggers and Santa Fe Fuego. The Wind also recently released their game hats and uniforms.

The color of the hats are Kansas Blue. The hat features the GC logo in raised seam on the front while the Garden City Wind logo is featured on the back. The right side of the hat features the Pecos League logo and the left side of the hat features the Kansas Flag. Their jerseys will also be in Kansas Blue. They will feature the Kansas Flag and inaugural patch on the sleeves as well as the team logo with numbers on the front and back of the jerseys.

The Garden City Wind have yet to announce a coaching staff, but they’re expected to finalize one soon.
