According to Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish, free agent starter Brandon Beachy is hoping to sign with a team by Friday.

Beachy, 28, needed Tommy John surgery last March — the second procedure of his career — so he should come pretty cheap despite the heavy amount of free agent interest and his impressive career numbers at the major league level.
Beachy owns a 3.23 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 9.2 K/9 in 46 starts spanning 267 2/3 big league frames.
Former teammate Kris Medlen, in a very similar situation as Beachy, scored a two-year, $8.5 million contract from the Royals in mid-December and includes a $10 million mutual option for 2017.
