Downside To Each Team’s Biggest Free Agent Signing: American League

Toronto Blue Jays: Russell Martin
Between 2011 and 2013, Martin batted just .225 but that trend changed in 2014 as Martin hit .290 and even got enough votes to finish 13th in the National League MVP voting.  His improved hitting allowed Martin to get an $88 million deal with the Blue Jays which would be money not well spent by Toronto should his batting average drop back down to where it was in the past few seasons.  Martin, who spent two years in the AL East with the New York Yankees, has been a terrible hitter in the parks across the division Camden Yards being the only stadium in the group where he hits above .250.
