Downside To Each Team’s Biggest Free Agent Signing: National League

San Francisco Giants: Norichika Aoki
After falling just short of winning a title with Kansas City, Aoki jumped ship and signed with the team that beat him this offseason as he joins the Giants.  Aoki has played three years since coming over from Japan and he’s been extremely consistent by hitting between .285 and .288 in those seasons and San Francisco will easily find a spot for him in his new home. The biggest issue that the Giants should have with Aoki is his decline in power numbers. While he does post practically the same batting average year in and year out, his home run total has declined every year he’s been in the Majors, starting at 10 in 2012 and falling to just one last year.  Aoki also had 51 extra base hits as a rookie in 2012 and that number fell to just 29 last year despite playing almost every day for Kansas City.
