In the next installment in the top 10 position rankings, we will preview baseball’s best shortstops. In the coming weeks, contributing writers at Baseball Essential will preview different positions. Links to other top 10 position articles are below.
1. Troy Tulowitzki, Colorado Rockies
Tulowitzki is a risky pick because he will most likely be drafted in the opening two rounds in your league and he has been injury-prone over the past several seasons. When healthy, he is the best shortstop in the game and it isn’t even close. In just 91 games last season, he hit .340 with 21 home runs and 52 RBI. He was so good in 2014 that he finished 8th among shortstops on ESPN’s fantasy player-rater even though he missed almost all the second half of the season.
