Weekend Series: at Florida

Everyone is waiting for the Volunteers to break out this season. Tennessee’s rotation has been impressive, bringing a 2.38 ERA into SEC play. However, their offense has been unable to produce consistently. Their woes may be due to their lack of a consistent line-up. So far, only four guys have appeared in all 13 games. Two players appeared in 11 games, but they hit a combined .138 in 58 at bats.

Bret Marks has been outstanding on the mound in 2015. In four starts, he has scattered two runs over 22 2/3 innings of work. He leads a trio of weekend starters that has only allowed eight extra base hits in nearly 60 innings.

Weekend Prediction: Florida sweeps Tennessee 3 games to 0

Maybe Bret Marks can sneak out a win, but Tennessee will have a difficult time scoring against a formidable Gator rotation. If the Volunteers can pull off a win or two, they will need production from junior outfielder Christin Stewart. Stewart has three of Tennessee’s four home runs and takes a .475 on-base percentage into the series.
