The Los Angeles Dodgers’ OF Yasiel Puig went out on a rehab assignment last Friday, but was pulled from that outing due to more tightness in his hamstring. Puig has not played a full game since April 23rd against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers and Puig initially thought that he would be activated from the DL this past Monday, but the tightness has set back his return date for now.
Yasiel Puig underwent an MRI on Monday and the results did not show anything that was not already known. He will likely be sent out on a second rehab assignment sometime next week although he is likely out indefinitely until the condition of his hamstring shows signs of improvement.
The Dodgers currently sit atop the NL West with a 22-10 record, 5.5 games in front of the second place San Francisco Giants. Do not expect the Dodgers to rush Puig back given their healthy division lead.
