Joey Gallo goes 3-for-4 in debut for Texas Rangers

Major League Baseball was just introduced to third baseman Joey Gallo. What an introduction it was. The young third base prospect made his presence known in his major league debut last night for the Texas Rangers. The left-handed power hitting prospect had an electric debut against the visiting Chicago White Sox.

His first major league hit came in the beginning of the game. He stepped up to the dish with the bases loaded and delivered big time as he pulled a slider into right field scoring two runs in the process and making it a 4-0 game in the process. His next at bat was even more impressive as he stepped up with a runner on first and hooked the first pitch into the second deck of right center field to push the lead even further in the Rangers’ favor 6-2.  The next at bat of the game saw the young slugger double on a line drive to right field with no one on base.

His next two at bats weren’t as exciting as he struck out and then drew a walk. He ended up finishing the day going 3-for-4 at the plate as well as scoring 3 runs and knocking in 4 RBIs.  He fell a triple short of hitting for the cycle. All in all it was a very impressive showing for his first major league game. Hopefully there’s more to come while he remains on the big league roster.
