Dodgers activate Yasiel Puig

According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, the Dodgers activated outfielder Yasiel Puig from the disabled list. He hasn’t played since April 24 due to a left hamstring injury that took multiple rehab tries in order to get one-hundred percent healthy. Outfielder Scott Schebler has been optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Puig, 24, only has 50 plate appearances this year with two home runs and slash line of .279/.380/.465. He will join Joc Pederson, Andre Ethier, Alex Guerrero in the outfield as the normal trio, presumably. Chris Heisey is in the lineup tonight, though, instead of Guerrero.

The right-handed power hitter Puig has 1122 career plate appearances after signing out of Cuba in 2012 and has a 152 wRC+ to go along with 37 home runs.

The Dodgers sit at 31-24, tied for first place in the National League West with the Giants. They take on the Cardinals tonight after losing the first two games of the series. Hopefully we see a couple bat flips from Puig tonight (no way he is giving them up).
