Jim Bowden of ESPN is reporting that the Braves are close to sending Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson to the Mets. The Mets have been looking for bats and this would accomplish that to an extent. Joel Sherman of the New York Post said the Mets are sending John Gant and Robert Whalen.

Rafael Montero is not part of this trade. I don’t know who reported it. But it is Gant and Whalen for Johnson and Uribe

Uribe, 36, was traded to the Braves earlier this season and has slashed .285/.353/.464 in 167 plate appearances since the trade. He will likely get the majority of the time at third base with David Wright still on the disabled list.
Johnson, 33, has played the corner outfield, second, third, and first base this season while slashing .275/.321/.451 in 197 plate appearances. He would help their depth.
Nothing has been confirmed yet. We will update when more information surfaces.
