Report: Indians, Cardinals working on “significant trade”

According to Chris Cotillo of SB Nation, the Indians and Cardinals are believed to be close on a deal that would include Cardinals’ prospect Rob Kaminsky.

Cotillo speculates that Brandon Moss, Carlos Santana, Carlos Carrasco, and Danny Salazar could be available and that he’s heard the Cardinals could target Moss to play first base.

Kaminsky, 20, is a left-handed pitching prospect for the Cardinals who has posted a 2.09 ERA, 2.53 FIP in 94 2/3 innings pitched at High-A this season. MLB.com ranked him as the club’s third best prospect behind Alexander Reyes and Stephen Piscotty.

After losing Matt Adams for the year the Cardinals just found out the Matt Holliday suffered a quad strain (tear), which is the same injury he had earlier this season. The club could look to acquire some depth for the stretch run going into the playoffs.
