[tps_title]3. Gabe Kapler –– Dodgers Director of Player Development[/tps_title]
Though Kapler doesn’t have nearly as much coaching experience as Black or Martinez (he managed one season of single-A ball in 2007), he has long been thought of as a potential manager, and there may not be a better chance than the Dodgers’ opening. He has been the Dodgers’ Director of Player Development for a season, so he has familiarity with the front office. He has held quite a few jobs in baseball, from player to minor league manager to analyst, and now in the front office. His lack of major league coaching experience could prove to be a large check against him, but he has received high praise from Andrew Friedman.
