Report: Rockies’ Jose Reyes arrested for domestic abuse

Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes has been arrested in Maui for domestic abuse involving his wife, according to Chelsea Davis of Hawaii News Now.

Reyes’ agent, Peter Greenberg, had no comment on the report.

According to Davis, Reyes was arrested on Halloween after allegedly assaulting his wife in their hotel room.

Earlier this year, MLB created a domestic violence policy that gives commissioner Rob Manfred the power to discipline any offender. He would not have to wait for the legal process to play out before handing out a suspension, as Rotoworld.com notes.

In 116 games played last season, Reyes hit .274 with seven home runs and 53 RBI.

More details will be provided when they are made available.
