Signing Juan Uribe isn’t going to set off any wild celebrations in Baltimore, but the 15-year veteran could be a valuable addition to the Orioles clubhouse. Uribe won’t put up huge offensive numbers, but he is a great presence in the dugout and locker room. Uribe can produce when called upon a few times a week.

Uribe had some ugly years in 2011 and 2012, but he’s gotten his average back above .250 for three straight years now. Uribe can play second or third base at this point in his career. The Orioles would not need him to play a ton, and Uribe’s real value with Baltimore could be unlocked in mentoring Jonathan Schoop and Manny Machado.
