Coming off a season defined by the roster turnover off the field, and the inadequacies on it, the Padres came into this offseason with a lot of question marks as to what direction the franchise would move in. Some predicted the team was gearing towards a rebuild, while others thought the team was going to go all in once again. The results to this point have been some where in the middle. The Padres are clearly not in a position to compete next year, but also have not gone into full blown rebuilding mode. The team has gotten better around the edges, but still figures to be a below .500 team as currently constituted. With less than three months to Opening Day, several large questions still remain.
