Mercifcully, the chaotic, brutal slog of 2015 is long since over for the Washington Nationals. Unmercifully, the division-rival Mets are now the class of the East and maybe the National League as a whole. Do the Nats have a fighting chance? Yes, indeed.
The 2016 version of the ballclub will be a very different squad than what was fielded last season. Granted, different does not always mean better. In this case, though, Washington fans should take heart: the changes made to the club have addressed critical underlying problems from inside the locker room to the field of play.
