This episode was our third time going solo, but we ended up getting a surprise phone call that led to some good conversation about baseball card collecting, and a plug for one of our favorite Baltimore-area memorabilia stores, The Dugout Zone.

In baseball news, we talked about the Dexter Fowler fiasco and what it means for both the Chicago Cubs and the Baltimore Orioles. The Cubs, led by baseball genius Theo Epstein, added Fowler and Shane Victorino (on a minor league deal) to an already deep outfield. We also discussed potential fits for outfielder David Murphy, who signed with the Boston Red Sox after we recorded the podcast.

The Texas Rangers also signed Ian Desmond, who will play left field. We talked about what this means for guys like Josh Hamilton and Joey Gallo in Texas.

We also talked at length about postgame celebrations in light of the Orioles telling Adam Jones he could no longer “pie” his teammates after victories.

And, as always, much more!

Tune in next week when the man who caught Alex Rodriguez‘s 3,000th hit, Zack Hample, joins us.
