As spring training games kick off this week, position battles have started to move from “on paper” to on the diamond.  While teams such as the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals have the majority of their projected roster relatively set, there are several teams who have a number of positions up for grabs this spring.  One of the teams falling into the latter category is the Atlanta Braves, who specifically have a bevy of candidates jockeying for position on their pitching staff.  This offseason was another busy one for the Braves as they enter year two of a full-blown rebuild.  Armed with another batch of highly touted young players, the team is eager for their first glimpse of their new crop in a Braves uniform.  Let’s take a look at the top position battles for the Atlanta Braves as they begin Grapefruit League play.
