We are only 10 days into the 2016 Major League Baseball season and there have already been quite a few intriguing storylines to watch. That’s not even including the off the field storylines that have come to light, including the arrest of Hector Olivera in relation to a domestic incident. Even so, as was the case throughout the 2015 season, one of the hottest stories of all is this year’s rookie class (and yes, pun fully intended).
Although Trevor Story has been dominating the news cycle over the past week, with his stellar seven home runs during his first week in the majors, this year has already been marked by quite a few other intriguing prospects. Despite the season being less than two weeks old, there have already been quite a few important injuries, and quite a few important prospect call ups because of that. From Nomar Mazara to Max Kepler to Mallex Smith, there have already been quite a few top prospects called up, with even more coming. Whether those call ups are temporary or not remains to be seen, but there will clearly be more where those came from.
