After what turned into a thrill ride of emotions for Yankees fans, Giancarlo Stanton was traded to the New York Yankees early Saturday morning in exchange for Starlin Castro and pitching prospects Jorge Guzman and Jose Devers. This shocking deal sent Yankees fans into pandemonium.
Stanton will now be joining a Yankees lineup already filled with some big names who can pack a pretty big punch themselves with guys like Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez. Judge has always been considered the “new Giancarlo Stanton” and now that they are teammates Judge decided to break the ice a little bit on Twitter.
The American League Rookie of the Year tweeted out to Stanton a GIF from “Step Brothers” which says “Did we just become best friends?”, a tweet that might just become an all-time great. There is no denying the power each of these two men has and now that they are teammates it seems like a nice new friendship may be on the horizon.
It’s just impossible to not be excited about what is in store for the Yankees offense next season by having a lineup with the top two home run hitters in all of baseball. The duo combined for 111 home runs with 246 runs batted in during the 2017 campaign playing for their respective teams, now that they will be together who knows what they are capable of.
It is no surprise really that Judge tweeted this out to Stanton considering that over the past year he has proven himself to be if not the nicest, one of the nicest and genuine athletes in the world today. I can even personally vouch for this considering I have met Judge and it really doesn’t seem like the guy has a bad bone in his body.
Now all Yankees fans can do is wait for opening day to see these two newly founded best friends take the field together and put on a fireworks show with their monstrous power.
