Sleeper Candidates for the American League All-Star team

Xander Bogaerts – Boston Red Sox

Among American League shortstops, Xander Bogaerts ranks 1st in wOBA, 2nd in wRC+, 3rd in slugging percentage, and 4th in WAR. He is 21-years-old. If it weren’t for Derek Jeter’s farewell tour, Bogaerts would be the starting shortstop in the All-Star game for the AL (even though mean ‘ol Stephen Drew came back and pushed him back to third base).
