James Russell and Aaron Hill are drawing a considerable amount of trade interest, according to Peter Gammons; however, it is unclear which teams have interest in these two players. There has been one team linked to Hill thus far–the Toronto Blue Jays.
He has by no means had a career year in Arizona. The 32-year-old 2nd baseman is currently hitting .245 with an on-base percentage of .282. He has also only hit 6 home runs and driven in 42 runs. The Blue Jays have been linked to Hill multiple times this season; however, it is again unclear how much interest they have. Possible prospects to look out for in a deal involving Hill are: Alberto Tirado, Franklin Barreto and Sean Nolin.
James Russell is a 28-year-old left-handed relief pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. In 2014, Russell has a 2.22 ERA while throwing 24.1 innings–striking out 20. He has had a solid career with the Cubs–including a career 3.76 ERA in 263 innings (striking out 197). In Gammons’ tweet he did not mention who had interest in Russell specifically, just that his name was coming up in trade talks.
