The Los Angeles Angels have made a move. The Angels are set to acquire Huston Street from the San Diego Padres. Players that have been confirmed in the deal are Houston Street from the Padres and Taylor Lindsey, R.J. Alvarez, and Jose Rondon from the Angels. Ken Rosenthal provided this information along with Chris Cotillo. Full deal is Street, minor leaguer to the Angels; Lindsey, Alvarez, Rondon and one more minor leaguer to the Padres.
Huston Street has been a very good reliever in his major league career. He has dominated in 2014 posting a 1.09 ERA in 33 innings pitched with 34 strike out’s while saving 24 games. Those are extremely good numbers and Street should certainly help the Angels down the stretch in their world series hopes.
Taylor Lindsey and R.J. Alvarez are a nice package themselves without any other players. Adding Rondon to that group makes this deal an absolute win for the Padres. Lindsey is a 2nd baseman in AAA where he is hitting for a .247 AVG. Alvarez is a relief pitcher in AA where he has posted a 0.33 ERA in 27 innings pitched with 38 strike outs. Both Lindsey and Alvarez are a very good get for the Padres in this deal and both could contribute to the Padres as soon as this year. The other known player in this deal is Jose Rondon. Rondon is a SS in A(+) ball where he is hitting .327. It isn’t likely that Rondon reaches the big leagues this season.
