This season the Washington Nationals are living up to preseason expectations. While they struggled to start the season, they currently sit in first place in the NL East with a 58-47 record, and the best run differential in the National League at +72. Next up on the Nationals schedule is the Philadelphia Phillies, the team safely in the basement of the NL East standings. They’re 12.5 games back of the Nationals, and only the Arizona Diamondbacks have a worse run differential than their -68. Washington Nationals tickets are averaging $35 for the series on the secondary market, down 26 percent from the season average at Nationals Park.

7/31 PHI Cliff Lee vs. WAS Gio Gonzalez | Avg. Price: $40 | Get-in Price: $14

Gio Gonzalez has long been considered one of the better pitchers in the league, and he is once again having a good season. He has a 3.56 ERA, 3.15 FIP and is averaging over a strikeout per inning. Yet, Gonzalez is probably the fourth best pitcher in this stacked Nationals rotation. Cliff Lee opposes him for the Phillies, and while Lee has had a good season, he has looked shaky in his last few starts since returning from the DL. The average price for Nationals vs Phillies tickets is the most expensive of the series at $40 and the get-in price is $14.

8/1 PHI Roberto Hernandez vs. WAS Doug Fister | Avg. Price: $30 | Get-in Price: $9

The second game of series features the Nationals worst starter. But that doesn’t really help the Phillies much, with that pitcher being Doug Fister. Fister has spectacular control, and has easily walked the fewest batters on the team. He also has a stellar 2.69 ERA and a 10-2 record. Tickets are averaging $30 for the game with a $9 get-in price.

8/2 PHI AJ Burnett vs. WAS Jordan Zimmerman | Avg. Price: $38 | Get-in Price: $11

By the end of today the Phillies starter for this game might be different. Signed in the offseason, AJ Burnett might get shipped out before the trade deadline, as he’s had a very productive year for the Phillies. He leads the team with 149.2 innings pitched while sporting a solid 4.15 ERA. Jordan Zimmerman gets the start for the Nationals, and he is having another stellar season. His FIP and WAR trail only Stephen Strasburg on the team. The average price of the game is $38 and the get-in price is $11.

8/3 PHI Cole Hamels vs. WAS Stephen Strasburg | Avg. Price: $32 | Get-in Price: $6

The final game of the series has an average price of $32 and a get-in of $6. The game also has the best pitching matchup with Stephen Strasburg and Cole Hamels pitching. Hamels has had a ridiculous season for the Phillies. He has easily been their best pitcher with a 2.55 ERA, 2.90 FIP, 2.8 WAR and a 3.41 K/BB ratio. Strasburg has been one of the best pitchers in the league, leading Washington with 144.1 innings pitched, tossing over 10 strikeouts per 9 innings while walking just over 2, and has a 2.83 FIP and 3.1 WAR.
