MLB Rumors: Braves aggressively shopping Evan Gattis to AL teams

Another Atlanta Braves catcher could be headed to the American League this offseason. That catcher being Evan Gattis, according to Joel Sherman.

Gattis blasted 22 homers and drove in 52 runs for the Braves last season, but Christian Bethancourt is also in the mix in Atlanta. The issue is Betancourt does not have the offensive skills that Gattis gives the Braves.

The Braves have struggled since losing Brian McCann to the New York Yankees last offseason. They finished 29th in runs scored (3.54 per game) in 2014.

Gattis, who is 28, has been troubled by injuries in his two years with the Braves.
