Just three days ago, Markakis’ agent said he would present his client to other teams for the first time in his nine-year major league career, according to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun. Those teams may not have a shot considering they could be on the verge of a new deal for Markakis.
The Orioles declined a $17.5-million team option on the 30-year-old outfielder. Markakis has spent his entire nine-year career in Baltimore.
