Torii Hunter has received a ton of positive attention from about seven teams in the Major League Baseball, including the Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins. However, he has received negative attention from the Detroit Tigers.
“I don’t think we’ll re-sign Torii,” Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski told Jason Beck of MLB.com. “I called him today and let him know that. I saw his representative, Larry Reynolds, out there in Arizona (during the general managers meetings). We’ve been in touch. I talked to Torii but also talked to Larry.”
The 39-year-old spent a pair of productive seasons in the Motor City, hitting .295/.327/.456 with 34 home runs and 167 RBIs in 286 games. After the playoffs were over, the Hunter claimed that he would like to sign another contract to stay in Detroit.
