MLB Rumors: Red Sox offer deal to free-agent pitcher Jon Lester

UPDATE: Boston’s proposal to Lester is for six years and is worth around $110-$120 million, hears Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.

The Boston Red Sox have made a contract offer to free-agent starting pitcher Jon Lester when he met with Boston earlier this week, according to ESPN’s Gordon Edes.

Lester rejected a four-year, $70-million offer from the Red Sox in March and was traded to the Oakland Athletics following the rejection.
