The Boston Red Sox have made a contract offer to free-agent starting pitcher Jon Lester when he met with Boston earlier this week, according to ESPN’s Gordon Edes.
Edes also reported that the Red Sox were willing to offer a six-year contract, however, this deal is unknown.
Lester rejected a four-year, $70-million offer from the Red Sox in March and was traded to the Oakland Athletics following the rejection.
