According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, Dioner Navarro feels that the recent signing of Russell Martin to a 5-year/$82M contract will diminish his role with the Blue Jays. The 30-year old Navarro hit .274, 12 RBI, with 69 RBI in 2014.
Heyman also states that the Jays would give Navarro time between DH as well as catcher. The switch hitter had drawn interest from three teams, the identities of these particular teams remain unknown. He prefers to be a full-time catcher rather than a backup, which the Blue Jays have a surplus of.
Navarro will make $5 million this upcoming season, therefore, trading him will not be a problem financially.
