The Boston Red Sox have signed free agent right hander Justin Masterson, according to Buster Olney.

The terms of the deal are one year at nine million dollars according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Masterson pitched with the St. Louis Cardinals and Cleveland Indians in 2014. He posted a 7-9 record and a 5.88 ERA in 28 appearances. Twenty-five of those were starts. Masterson has spent eight years in the major leagues, posting a 4.24 ERA in 240 games. He pitched the first year and a half of his career with the Red Sox before being traded in 2009 for catcher Victor Martinez.
