After acquiring Matt Kemp from the Los Angeles Dodgers, the San Diego Padres could be looking to add another big bat to their outfield. Per Mark Bowman of MLB.com, the Padres are one of the teams with interest in Atlanta Braves’ slugger Justin Upton.
The #Padres remain one of the clubs pursuing J-Up. I wouldn’t be shocked if J-Up and Kemp are together in San Diego next year.

The Braves acquired Upton from the Arizona Diamondbacks prior to the 2013 season, and ever since, he’s been one of the most consistent hitters around. In 2014, Upton smashed 29 home runs, with 102 RBI and a .270/.342/.491 slash line.
The Braves have been rumored to be heading towards a rebuild, and after turning over their front office and sending Jason Heyward to the St. Louis Cardinals, it seems like the rebuild could be in full swing.
Kemp and Upton would be an impressive one-two punch in the Padres lineup, and it would surely help them contend in the fiercely competitive NL West.
