Chicago White Sox: Top 10 Prospects

5. Micah Johnson 2B – One of the team’s more MLB-ready prospects, Micah Johnson has been with the team since 2012. He was drafted out of Indiana University-Bloomington as a ninth round pick. Splitting time between Birmingham and Charlotte this past season, he finished 2014 with a .294/.351/.403 slash line to go with 19 doubles and 22 steals. Johnson has a nice mix of plate discipline, and the speed needed to steal bases consistently. While he still needs some work on his glove at second base, he still may break camp right out of Spring Training, and could possibly even be the team’s everyday second baseman. The lone White Sox representative at the ’14 Future’s Game, Johnson has All-Star second base potential and will be a nightmare on the base paths.
