Denorfia, 34, spent 2014 with the San Diego Padres and the Seattle Mariners, hitting .230, with a .284 OBP, while slugging .318.
Denorfia is a career utility outfielder, never hitting more than 10 home runs, and never higher than a .293 batting average.
The young Cubs squad seems to be gearing up for a run, adding ace Jon Lester and catcher Miguel Montero earlier in the off-season.
The deal will reportedly be worth $2,500,000 million, per Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
