San Diego Padres: Top 10 Prospects

2. OF Hunter Renfroe– If power is your thing, this is your guy. He has a lot of raw power, and so far it’s translated, as he hit 21 homers last season. The former SEC college player has advanced quickly through the Padres system since being drafted in the first round in 2013. He looks to be an above average defender with a really good arm who will hit you some homers. His biggest question mark is how good of a hitter he will be. Renfroe cutting back on K’s, and making some small adjustments to his swing could make him into an All-Star. He certainly has a lot of potential, and at worst, he’s a big league corner outfielder.

Grade: A-  Potential: A really good MLB corner outfielder with pop. Potential All-Star.

Agree w/the top three, but would put them Renfroe-Wisler-Hedges. Hedges’ defense is stellar, but his bat is really lacking. I don’t see Taylor Lindsey being anything in the majors, I think that Jose Rondon was the biggest piece in the Huston Street deal (no slight to RJ Alvarez, who was recently traded to the A’s in a package for Derek Norris and Streich). A prospect that I was really looking forward to was Mallex Smith, who was traded to Atlanta, I’ll be interested to see if he lands in their top 10, not sure how strong their farm is.

Good read! Great review of the new top 10 with all the changes. I will be interested to see what other changes are in store and how AJ Preller drafts.
