San Diego Padres: Top 10 Prospects

5. SP Casey Kelly– As the prized prospect of the Adrain Gonzalez deal, Kelly has faced some struggles. He now looks ready to contribute to the Padres rotation. He had Tommy John surgery in 2013, and just came back at the end of 2014, but Kelly can help the Padres as a back-end guy in 2015.

Grade: B  Potential: Anywhere from a number 3 to 5 guy who helps out the team

Agree w/the top three, but would put them Renfroe-Wisler-Hedges. Hedges’ defense is stellar, but his bat is really lacking. I don’t see Taylor Lindsey being anything in the majors, I think that Jose Rondon was the biggest piece in the Huston Street deal (no slight to RJ Alvarez, who was recently traded to the A’s in a package for Derek Norris and Streich). A prospect that I was really looking forward to was Mallex Smith, who was traded to Atlanta, I’ll be interested to see if he lands in their top 10, not sure how strong their farm is.

Good read! Great review of the new top 10 with all the changes. I will be interested to see what other changes are in store and how AJ Preller drafts.
