According to Jim Bowden of ESPN.com, the Pittsburgh Pirates have reached an agreement with Korean infielder Jung-ho Kang on a four-year deal in the $16 million range. The deal, which is pending a physical, includes a fifth-year option.
Kang is reportedly flying to Pittsburgh for his physical this week, and will officially become a member of the Pirates if all goes well.
Kang, 27, hit .356/.459/.739 while slugging 40 home runs with the Nexen Heroes in the Korea Baseball Organization last season.
