After managing the Kansas City Royals to their first American League pennant in nearly three decades, Ned Yost has been rewarded with a one-year contract extension.

Taking a team that was 19th in the Majors in Opening Day payroll, Yost led the Royals to an 89-73 record and the team’s first postseason appearance since 1985.
Yost also finished third for AL Manager of the Year.
