The Astros, as I wrote a few days ago, are looking for help in their rotation, and have been interested in Vogelsong for a while. Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle is reporting that Vogelsong is a “realistic option” but nothing will likely be finalized tonight.

Vogelsong would be a improvement for an Astros pitching staff that total team ERA of 4.14, and a team WHIP (Walks plus hits per inning pitched, a measure of how many base runners a pitcher or team allows each inning) of 1.335 according to Baseball Reference.
Last season, Vogelsong was 8-13, with a ERA of 4.00 while pitching for the world champion San Francisco Giants.
