6) Starlin Castro (Chicago Cubs)
When discussing possible players that could make a huge impact in the future of the sport, Starlin Castro’s name definitely should be in the equation.
The 24-year-old from the Dominican Republic already has a Rookie of the Year Award and three All-Star appearances under his belt, and the scary thing is that he keeps getting better every year. Castro led all MLB shortstops in batting average in 2014, and his slash line of .292/.339/.438 was ranked among one of the best at his position.
However, Castro has had some recent off the field issues that have caused some concern. After being questioned earlier this off-season in a shooting incident case, the Cubs hope that Castro relocating his home will help keep him out of trouble. With the Cubs finally looking as if they are ready (or almost ready) to compete in the National League Central, the Cubs need him on the field and out of trouble.
