Texas Rangers: Colby Lewis
The Rangers were not up to much in terms of bringing in free agents this offseason but they did resign Colby Lewis to a one-year, $4 million contract this winter. Lewis is a career .500 pitcher, going 54-58 over an eight year career and he has posted double-digit wins in three of the past four seasons but he just can not pitch well in his home ballpark. Lewis was 3-9 with a 5.90 ERA in the Ballpark at Arlington last season and over the last three years he is 7-11 with a 4.96 ERA. You have to figure roughly half of his starts next season will come at home and if he can’t pitch well there, it could be a long season for Lewis.
