Cleveland Indians: Gavin Floyd
Floyd has pitched in only 14 games over the past two seasons after two separate elbow injuries ended his season early. He had gone 62-56 as a starter between 2008 and 2012 so if healthy it’s clear that Floyd can be a very capable and reliable arm in the Indians rotation. The major downside with this move is the risk of injury. Floyd needed Tommy John surgery in May 2013 and suffered a olecranon fracture last season after just nine games. This will be a useless signing if Floyd isn’t the pitcher he was before this trend of elbow injuries began.
