Power Rankings: Top 15 Shortstops in ’15

  1. Alexei Ramirez (Chicago White Sox)

“Alexei, why are you still in Chicago?! You could have been traded to a contender after your great first half of the year!” That was my reaction to Alexei Ramirez not being traded last year, now I have a slightly different feeling. The White Sox added some key pieces in the off-season, and now are themselves a contender. Good on ya, Alexei.

As I said, Ramirez had a great 2014 season. So good in fact that he made everyone feel bad about voting Jeter to start the all-star game, and made me feel like a genius when I drafted him in all five of my fantasy leagues. 2014 saw Ramirez’s 2nd highest total in hits, RBI, SB, and WAR.

The additions of Melky Cabrera and Adam LaRoche, along with Avisail Garcia coming back from an injury ridden 2014 could all be factors that help Alexei Ramirez return to the playoffs.
