2. Ian Desmond, Washington Nationals
Desmond has been one of the most consistent shortstops in baseball the past few seasons. He leads all shortstops with 69 home runs since 2012 and consistently steals at least 20 bases. Even though his average dropped to .255 last season, he had a career-high 91 RBI and smashed 24 home runs. While Desmond is probably the safest best among all shortstops, he does come with concerns. He stuck out 183 times and makes plenty of errors in the field if your league includes fielding statistics.
