Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com is passing along some terrible news for Rangers fans:

Darvish has been excellent since joining the Rangers from Japan before the 2012 season. He has been an All-Star every year and finished second in the 2013 American League Cy Young Award voting after putting up a 2.83 ERA with 277 strikeouts in 209.2 innings. His career K/9 is a ridiculously impressive 11.2.
Darvish first experienced pain in his pitching elbow last August, and with the Rangers already out of contention, they shut him down for the season in hopes that he would come back strong for 2015. On thursday, in his first spring training start of the year, he pitched only one of his scheduled two innings, walking off the mound after that inning shaking his arm and showing signs of discomfort. The Rangers sent him for an MRI, which was thought to be precautionary, but if Sanchez is right, Darvish’s 2015 season may be over before it even began.
