Shortstop: Xander Bogaerts
2014 Stats: 144 games, 60 runs, 28 doubles, 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 2 steals, .240/.297/.362/.660
Going into last season, Bogaerts was touted as one of the best prospects in the game and a surefire American League Rookie of the Year candidate. Unfortunately, Bogaerts didn’t have the year that many, including himself, expected him to have. He will look to bounce back in his second full season with the Red Sox this year.
It’s still very early to actually know how Bogaerts will be at the Major League level. The disappointing rookie season could be some cause for concern but I think the Red Sox will get a better idea after this season. The signing of Yoan Moncada could push the envelope a bit for Bogaerts as well.
