Hall of Fame Writer Bob Elliott Discusses Favourite Moments and Love for the Game

Since 1978 Bob Elliott has been spreading the gospel of baseball.

He was there to cover the rise and fall of the Expos and the 1992-93 Blue Jays World Series championships; he is the first Canadian journalist to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

I had the opportunity to sit down with him and discuss his favourite moments, what it was like covering the World Baseball Classic and the World Series, and why baseball is the greatest game on earth.

“Baseball is the fairest game of them all; football you can double team the middle linebacker, basketball you can double team the hot shot guy with all the 3 pointers…it’s just the hitter and the pitcher.” – Bob Elliott

Elliott will also be inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame this June.
