Power Rankings: Top 20 Outfielders in ’15

  1. Bryce Harper (Washington Nationals)

I just want to point out that I think my ranking of Bryce Harper is the absolute highest that he should be ranked. I understand that he’s a raw talent; I get that he was too good to play in high school; I get that he can hit a baseball far; but what I also “get”, is that with raw talent, I am not going to believe in production until I see some production.

Harper has gotten worse on defense each year he’s played. He has a BB% under 10% and a K% over 26%. He has yet to top 60 RBI, 25 HR, .280 BA, or 600 PA in any one season. I’ve seen lots of hype for Bryce; now that it’s cooling down I’m excited to see what he will do.

I’m probably being a little too tough on him, and he still has a long road ahead; he has plenty of time to achieve greatness. This year must be a coming-out party for Bryce Harper if he wants to be the face of his franchise. He has the best rotation in baseball keeping the scores low for him, in addition to a great lineup that will get on base. It’s your turn Bryce.
